thedirtynickels

“The Dirty Nickels are a unique trio that love to find a groove. The band blends blues, funk, rock, R&B, and soul, for a sound reminiscent of the classic blues/rock scene of the late 60s and 70s that brought us such greats as the Allman Brothers, the Blues Brothers, etc. Extremely talented musicians, The Dirty Nickels love to ride the groove for all it’s worth. Quite frankly, they do it quite well.” -Billtown Blues Association

The Mantells

MANTELS

The Mantells play some of the best songs from the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s, but not just the same old stuff everyone else plays. They choose great classics but not the songs you hear every week. It’s always good to hear Tommy Tutone thrown into a broad mix of music.

The Earthtones

A long, long time ago… twenty-two years actually…The Earthtones formed in State College, PA, a.k.a. Penn State. Early on, The Earthtones earned a reputation for being a great band to see if you wanted to guarantee yourself…a deep groove to dance to…music with positive words to sing along with…and an occasion of undeniable celebration. Many of their fans are international students who have taken The Earthtones recordings back home to every corner of the world.

RT has always said, “It starts with the music”, and with this simple philosophy he has guided The Earthtones to success opening up for major reggae acts like “The Wailers”, “Ziggy Marley”, “Culture”, and “Burning Spear” to name a few.

The Keystone Ska Exchange

Saturday, November 21st @ 10:00pm

keystone

The Keystone Ska Exchange is a straight ska outfit based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Our sound is very “rootsy”. We’re not out impress people with odd time signatures, key-changing chord progressions, and drop tuning – we hope to make people dance and enjoy themselves. Music should be fun and we try to have as much as possible. We keep it plain and simple – filling the voids with catchy riffs, and honest lyrics. Where other bands try to be the next new thing we take it back to the roots – even covering songs straight from ‘Studio 1 (Jamaica). During the summer of 2007 Cornball had returned to Williamsport from Phoenix Arizona with the goal of forming a ska band. Jamming with at that time roomate Al Meck they decided that it was time Williamsport had a decent Ska band to call its own. A few lineup changes later and The Keystone Ska Exchange is now ready to take stride. We’re not here to lie to you and say that this is the best thing to hit your ears or anything like that. I just hope you enjoy our music as much as we enjoy playing it.
